OCEANIA CRUISE INJURY LAWYERS
Injured on an Oceania cruise?
Oceania sails small, upscale ships, none carrying more than about 1,250 guests, to hundreds of destinations around the world, including many ports that larger ships cannot reach. That means more tender transfers, more shore excursions and often long distances from a hospital. If you were hurt, your Oceania ticket can decide where and how fast you have to act.

ABOUT OCEANIA
Who you would be making a claim against.
Oceania Cruises was founded in 2002 and is owned by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, which also owns Norwegian Cruise Line and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The line is based in Miami, Florida. Like any cruise operator, it has insurers and in-house lawyers, so what you tell them early can affect your claim.
THE FLEET
Eight ships, from about 700 to about 1,200 guests.
Each ship links to its own page with reported incidents, so passengers searching by ship name land here.
COMMON OCEANIA CLAIMS
Where upscale cruising goes wrong.
Tender and gangway injuries
Small-port calls mean frequent tender boarding in open water.
Shore excursions
Tours, hikes and activities sold through the line, often in remote places.
Slip and fall
Wet pool decks, outdoor dining areas and stairs.
Medical negligence
Infirmary care and delayed evacuation on long, remote voyages.
Illness outbreaks
Norovirus and food- or water-borne illness on board.
Assault and security
Crew or passenger assault and failed security response.
WHAT TO DO AFTER AN INCIDENT
Report it onboard
Ask for a copy of the incident report before you leave the ship.
Document the scene
Photograph the hazard, the location, and any posted signage or lack of it.
Get seen onboard
A visit to the ship’s medical center creates a record with the date and time. Keep every bill and receipt.
Call before you settle anything
What you tell Oceania or its insurers early can affect your claim later, so do not sign a release or accept a payment before you call.

OCEANIA-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS
How long do I have to file a claim against Oceania?
Oceania’s ticket contract, like most, can set a short deadline and name the court you must use. Most cruise tickets give you one year to file, and often six months to give written notice. Because the exact terms depend on your ticket, we check the contract that applies to you.
Oceania’s ships are registered in the Marshall Islands. Does that matter?
It can. The ships are registered abroad and the line is part of a larger group, so your ticket may name a court or a country’s law you would not expect, and it names the company you sailed with. We read the contract before anything is filed, so that your claim goes to the right place.
What if the excursion was sold through Oceania?
Excursions sold through the cruise line can carry different responsibility than ones you booked on your own ashore. For that reason, it is a key early question in any shore-excursion claim, especially for tours in remote ports run by outside operators.
I was hurt on a long voyage. When does my deadline start?
The clock can start on the day you were hurt, not the day the trip ends. Because some Oceania voyages last weeks or months, please do not wait until you get home. Call us as soon as you can, and we will check the dates that apply to your ticket.
I was hurt boarding a tender boat, does that count?
It can. Boarding a tender in open water is a common source of injury claims at ports where a ship cannot dock, and the same ticket-contract deadlines apply. Whether you have a claim depends on what went wrong, such as the sea conditions, the crew’s help or the equipment.
What does it cost to find out if I have a case?
Nothing. The review is free, and if we take your case, we work on contingency, so our fee comes only from what we recover for you.
