DISNEY CRUISE INJURY LAWYERS

Injured on a Disney cruise?

Disney Cruise Line is built around families, with pools, water rides, kids’ clubs and two private islands in the Bahamas. With so many children on board, busy family areas, wet decks and days ashore can all lead to injuries. If you were hurt, your Disney ticket can decide where and how fast you have to act.

ABOUT DISNEY

Who you would be making a claim against.

Disney Cruise Line is owned by The Walt Disney Company and run from operational headquarters in Celebration, Florida. It also operates two private destinations in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay. Like any large cruise operator, it has insurers and in-house lawyers, so what you tell them early can affect your claim.

WHAT TO DO AFTER AN INCIDENT

01

Report it onboard

Ask for a copy of the incident report before you leave the ship.

02

Document the scene

Photograph the hazard, the location, and any posted signage or lack of it.

03

Get seen onboard

A visit to the ship’s medical center, for a child or an adult, creates a record with the date and time. Keep every bill and receipt.

04

Call before you settle anything

What you tell Disney or its insurers early can affect your claim later, so do not sign a release or accept a payment before you call.

DISNEY-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS

How long do I have to file a claim against Disney?

Disney’s ticket contract, like most, can set a short deadline and name the court you must use. Most cruise tickets give you one year to file, and often six months to give written notice. Because the exact terms depend on your ticket, we check the contract that applies to you.

Which Disney company would my claim be against?

Your ticket contract names the company that runs the ship, and it may not match the name you know from the ship or the theme parks. We identify the right company before anything is filed, so that nothing goes to the wrong place.

My child was hurt, does anything change?

It can. Claims for children can follow different rules from claims for adults, so please call us even if time seems to have passed. In the meantime, keep your child’s medical records, your booking and anything you were asked to sign.

I was hurt at Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay, does that count?

It can. Disney runs its Bahamas islands as ports of call for its ships, so the cruise line may be responsible for what happens there, although local rules can matter too. Your ticket and any booking terms affect where and how you can file.

What does it cost to find out if I have a case?

Nothing. The review is free, and if we take your case, we work on contingency, so our fee comes only from what we recover for you.
