CARNIVAL CRUISE INJURY LAWYERS

Injured on a Carnival cruise?

Carnival carries millions of guests a year on large ships that sail from every coast of the U.S., on cruises that run from a long weekend to a week or two. With that many people on board and ashore, injuries on busy decks, at pools and on shore excursions can happen. If you were hurt, your Carnival ticket can decide where and how fast you have to act.

ABOUT CARNIVAL

Who you would be making a claim against.

Carnival Cruise Line was founded in 1972 and is owned by Carnival Corporation, one of the world’s largest cruise companies, which also owns Princess Cruises, Holland America Line and Cunard, among others. The line is based in Miami, Florida. Like any large cruise operator, it has insurers and in-house lawyers, so what you tell them early can affect your claim.

WHAT TO DO AFTER AN INCIDENT

01

Report it onboard

Ask for a copy of the incident report before you leave the ship.

02

Document the scene

Photograph the hazard, the location, and any posted signage or lack of it.

03

Get seen onboard

A visit to the ship’s medical center creates a record with the date and time. Keep every bill and receipt.

04

Call before you settle anything

What you tell Carnival or its insurers early can affect your claim later, so do not sign a release or accept a payment before you call.

CARNIVAL-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS

How long do I have to file a claim against Carnival?

Carnival’s ticket contract, like most, can set a short deadline and name the court you must use. Most cruise tickets give you one year to file, and often six months to give written notice. Because the exact terms depend on your ticket, we check the contract that applies to you.

What if the excursion was sold through Carnival?

Excursions sold through the cruise line can carry different responsibility than ones you booked on your own ashore. For that reason, it is a key early question in any shore-excursion claim.

I was hurt on a water slide or another ride, does that count?

It can. Water slides, pools and other attractions are a common source of injury claims on large ships, and the same ticket-contract deadlines apply. Whether you have a claim depends on what went wrong, such as supervision, maintenance or warnings.

Which Carnival company would my claim be against?

Your ticket contract names the company you sailed with, and cruise lines are often part of a larger group. We identify the right one for you before anything is filed, so that nothing goes to the wrong place.

What does it cost to find out if I have a case?

Nothing. The review is free, and if we take your case, we work on contingency, so our fee comes only from what we recover for you.
